Keith Kauffman will be officially inducted into the
2004 class of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
Kauffman has also secured a ride for that weekend.
Kauffman will join 13 others on Saturday afternoon,
June 5 at
Knoxville Raceway’s Dyer Hudson Hall
for the official ceremony.
Knoxville, Iowa native Jon Agan will put the
Man from Mifflintown in his No. 4 sprint car for the
Hoosier Tires Midwest Masters
Classic
on Friday, June 4 and then Kauffman will compete
in the regular
Saturday night 410 sprint car
program at Knoxville.
"This is definitely an honor for myself and my team
to have
Keith
drive our car," said, Agan, 25,
who is competing on the All Star
Sprint car circuit
this season. "I think very highly of the Hall of
Fame and what it does so we want to support them
and the race.
For me to do it, it had to be the right
person. I don’t know Keith
very well at all but I
am very honored to have him drive my race
car."
Agan will supply both a 360 sprint for the
Masters Classic as well
as a 410 sprint for the
regular show. Agan also plans to competing
on Saturday as the All Stars have an off week
that weekend.
"We’ve got good stuff and all the motors will be
fresh and
strong for that weekend," Agan said
about his DeeZee Truck
Accessories, United Trailers,
WrenchWorx, Brodix Cylinder Heads,
Weld Wheels Eagle chassis. Shane Wisbon is
Agan’s crew chief.
He wrenched the Al Harrison
sprint car in recent years.
Thanks to Jon Agan and the entire Agan Motorsports,
DeeZee
Race
team on providing Keith with a great
ride for his trip to Knoxville.
Keith has earned the greatest award in sprint car
racing by his many
years of racing sprint cars and
being an all around Hall of Fame
type
person and
it's nice to know some people recognize just
what type of
an honor it really is.
Keith and his family and many friends will make the
trek to Iowa for
the
special weekend and we hope
many of Keith's fans across the country
and in Iowa plan to make it a weekend at
Knoxville Raceway to
support
the Hall of Fame.
All new 2004 Keith Kauffman Apparel will be
available during the
weekend
at the track. Tshirts,
sweatshirts, hats, decals and more will be
available to
make Keith's 2004 Hall of Fame induction a memorable one.

Keith Kauffman’s sprint car racing
career reached
the ultimate peak last Saturday afternoon.
Kauffman’s many years of not only being a
great sprint car driver, but also being the
person that he is earned him his place
in the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
The Man from Mifflintown was officially inducted
into the prestigious HoF last Saturday
afternoon in Knoxville, Iowa
in front of a near record crowd. Many friends
and family members attended the
ceremony to see their favorite driver be
presented the honor.
Joining Kauffman in the 2004 induction
class were Chuck Amati, Sherman "Red" Campbell,
Chuck Gurney, Bryan Saulpaugh, Bob Slater,
Billy Wilkerson, Jim Culbert,
Ralph Morgan, "Boston" Louie Seymour,
Walter Bull, Bruce Craig, Keith Hall and
Don Peabody. Kauffman,
who turned 54
Wednesday is still very active in the sprint
car ranks, which is what makes his honor
even more amazing. He has compiled
great statistics during his racing career and
despite leaving Central Pa. for over 10 years
to compete on the road, he still owns
many records in his homestate.
While in Knoxville, Kauffman competed
in the Friday night Hoosier Tires Midwest
Masters Classic, finishing runner-up to winner
Jimmy Sills. Sills defended his title
aboard a Lasoski Racing No. 20 sprint car.
Saturday night, Kauffman competed in
the regular Knoxville Raceway 410 sprint car
ranks, timing fourth out of 46 cars in time trials.
He dropped from the feature due to handling
problems. He was credited with 19th place.
All Star sprint car regular Jon Agan, who
lives just five blocks from Knoxville provided
a ride for Kauffman both nights in Iowa.
He could not get comfortable Saturday night
and decided to park the car and not risk
anything on the track.
But the real reason Kauffman was in Iowa
was for the Hall of Fame induction.
The rest was just an added bonus.
Central Pa. fans should be proud to have
a driver like Kauffman still active on our circuit.
He exemplifies everything the National Sprint
Car Hall of Fame committee looks for while
making its decision on new inductees. And we
are fortunate to have someone like Keith
Kauffman who we can proudly call a
member of the Pennsylvania Posse.
I know he sure made many Posse fans very proud
last week in Iowa as he accepted his award from
Dr. Pat Sullivan and Dave Argabright.
